Caring Facilities
Facing diagnosed dementia patients, family members can seek help from social care institutions. There are 5 types of care facilities on our website: Old People's Home, Day Care Centers, Elderly Caring Homes, Nursing Homes and Nursing Stations, and Social Support Organizations. Old People's Homes are equipped with special beds or services for dementia patients; Day Care Centers and Elderly Caring Homes both accept elderly patients with Alzheimer's disease and provide day care services; nursing homes and nursing stations mainly provide nursing services and home care guidance for elderly patients with Alzheimer's disease; Social support organizations and others cover more services, such as volunteer services, legal aid, etc.
The following resources refer to the "Shanghai Dementia Prevention and Care Support Manual", which was released by the Dementia Committee of the Shanghai Elderly Care Services Industry Association. It is the first in this city and even in the country to focus on dementia as a major disease and social issue. The website has integrated the information and added a tag search function, allowing you to filter information based on the type of institution and region you want (currently only Shanghai is supported).
